Financial Modeling Deep Dive

A detailed overview of the various capabilities and methods to model the funding plans for an analysis/study.

Key Notes

  • There are two primary funding methods 1) Cash Flow and 2) Threshold.

    • Cash Flow: Contributions are applied according to assumptions such as percent or dollar amount change over different ranges during the length of the analysis / projection period.

    • Threshold: Contributions are varied to meet a specific percent funded or dollar amount threshold

  • With Auto-Calculate checked, you can see the visual update of your cash flow table within the chart and the key numbers within the table in real-time while modeling.

  • When adding a Planned Special Assessment or Additional Capital, it will remain constant in the table as part of your contributions modeling to include as part of the cash flow calculations. To remove these items, click the Clear Customizations button.

  • Click any year row within the 30-Year Cash Flow table to see the details for that specific year.
